Day 1 - no class!
Period 2
We started class with a Do Now comparing photosynthesis to solar power. Then we went over the process of photosynthesis using a guided notes sheet (yellow handout). The rest of class was spent sitting in groups, deciding what should go on to the slide summarizing the video discussion from last week.
Homework: Finish up your PPT slide and Works Cited, upload to the "PowerPoint Upload" forum on your group page! The WHOLE GROUP project is due Thursday!
Period 5
Sara presented on obesity. Then, we finished the digestive anatomy handout by going over the table from Thursday. Finally, Ms. Sharkey spent some time introducing the recipe project which is due Tuesday April 6th!
Homework: I will check the diabetes WQ tomorrow and your food journal is due Wednesday!
Period 6
We started class with a quiz on ATP and cellular respiration. Then, I went over fermentation (anaerobic respiration) and we took some notes. We spent the rest of class finishing up carbon dioxide and exercise labs and checking in with our groups.
Homework: read pages 225-230 and complete section 9.2 reading guide
Period 7
We went to the media center computer lab to work on our PowerPoints and Works Cited.

Period 1
Alex S. presented on Crohn's disease. Then, we worked on a webquest using the Harvard School of Public Health's nutrition resource.
Homework: finish webquest! Make sure your food journal is complete by Tuesday!
Period 2
We started class with a Do Now called "Feel the Burn" and used it to talk about fermentation (anaerobic respiration). We took notes on what fermentation is used for and the two types of fermentation that exist. We spent the rest of class finishing up our exercise and carbon dioxide production labs.
Homework: Section 9.2 Reading guide (photosynthesis) and finish CO2 lab if you didn't finish it in class.
Period 5
Natalie presented on diabetes. We spent the rest of class working on a webquest about diabetes, from the American Diabetes Association website.
Homework: finish webquest
Period 6
We went to M105 to work on our Ning projects.
Homework: work on PowerPoint slide and works cited!

Class started with a quiz on the endocrine system. Then, we went over the anatomy of the digestive system.

Period 7
We started class with a quiz on ATP and cellular respiration. Then, I went over fermentation (anaerobic respiration). We also took a look at some examples of good PowerPoint slides vs. bad slides
