Periods 1 and 5:
Class started with a quiz on the respiratory system. In period 1 only, Kati M. presented on manic depression (reschedule from nervous system unit). I introduced the nutrition project by talking about picking a recipe and a group. I also talked about food journaling - see dailyplate.com if you need help with nutrition information! Lastly, we got our cardiovascular system tests back!
Homework: Your food journal needs to be 100% complete before we go to the computer lab on Tuesday 3/16 in period 1 and Wednesday 3/17 in period 5.

Periods 2 and 7:
We reviewed the ATP/ADP cycle in a do now. We finished the metabolism video and I identified the most important questions and allowed students to check their answers. Then, we started talking about cellular respiration by remembering some key pieces of the carbon cycle from last fall's ecology unit. We put the pieces that we knew into a chemical equation that you will have to know for quizzes and tests!
Homework: Work on video assignment on the Ning (due Wed). There will also be a quiz on ATP and cellular respiration on Thursday before we go to the computer lab.

Period 6:
We started class with a Do Now review of the ATP/ADP cycle. Then, we finished going over the classwork WS from Friday. I announced the video online discussion assignment on the Ning forum along with due dates (see class website and the Ning for more information). We started talking about how ATP relates to the digestive system and watched a video on metabolism.
Homework: read pages 231-237 and complete section 9.3 reading guide packet.
